“God’s gift to you is more talent and ability than you will ever use in one lifetime. Your gift to God is to develop and utilize as much of that talent and ability as you can, in this lifetime.”
Steve Bow.
I think this is such a wonderful quote. It tells us that we have an infinite amount of talents available to us as our birthright. It tells us that we can be thankful and express our gratefulness by being all that we can be.
As I reflect it makes me thing of how blessed I am. I think of how many talents I have; of how many more I can develop.
It is comforting and special. As I continue think about this special gift that was given to me, I can’t help but to think about my Mom. Without my Mom, I would have never been given the opportunity to express my talents.
It is ever more special to me today because today is my Mother’s birthday.
I realize that everything that she has done, whether I agree with it or not, whether I felt it was right or wrong, was in done with my best interest in mind.
Her actions and decisions were made so that I could develop as much talent and ability as I can. So that I could express my God given talents. So rather than writing a card today on my Mom’s birthday, I would like to dedicate this to her.
Mom, today I want you to know that I appreciate everything that you have done for me. I want you to know that I know that you love me with all of your heart and soul. I know that you have sacrificed so that I can live a better life.
I want you to know today, that I am a better man because of you. I am actively involved in developing my God given gifts because of you. I am an individual free thinking soul because of you. I have evertyhing I have because of you. I am alive because of you. I am my best because of you. I am proud of who I am because of you.
Your encouragement for the last 34 years of my life has fueled my passion more than anything. I wish nothing more than to make you proud; than to be the man you raised me to be. Please know that everything that I do, I do for you.
You are special. You are kind. You are forgiving. You are strong. You are love. You are Mom.
Thank you for always being there. Thank you for teaching me everything that you have taught me. Thank you for giving me life. Thank you for being you.
To Mom:
To one who bares
the sweetest name
and adds the pleasure
not the pain
who shares my joy
and cheers when sad
the greatest friend
I’ve ever had
long life to her
for theres no other
can take the place
of my dear mother
If I could give you diamonds
for each tear you cried for me.
If I could give you sapphires
for each truth you’ve helped me see.
If I could give you rubies
for the heartache that you’ve known
If I could give you pearls
for the wisdom that you’ve shown.
Then you’ll have a treasure, mother,
that would mount up to the skies
That would almost match
the sparkle in your kind and loving eyes.
But I have no pearls, no diamonds,
As I’m sure you’re well aware
So I’ll give you gifts more precious
My devotion, love and care.
With all my love
on your birthday
I hope you have the best birthday ever! I love you.
Your Beloved Son,
Andrew.
