The Greatest Lesson of Thanksgiving

25 Nov

Thanksgiving is a special day.  For many it is a time to reflect on all of the good that has come into their life.  When I think of Thanksgiving, I think of family, friends, health, food, career and many other things.  I also think of all of the brave men and women who are away from their families on the front lines defending our freedom.

I encourage everyone to really give some thought to the meaning of today.  Absorb it.  Reflect.  Really think about everything in your life and not the other way around.    I also encourage you to take this spirit of thanks forward and apply it as a daily routine.

The Power of Giving Thanks

Each and every day we choose what attitude or vibration we are going to bring to our life.  Many fail to realize the power of an “attitude of gratitude”.  While in a state of gratitude, we send out the “frequency” that there is abundance in our life and allow the floodgates of health, wealth and abundance to open and flow in your direction.

When we operate in a state of lack, we apply resistance and friction.  Both friction and resistance create decay and disintegration.  This decay comes in many forms such as stress, anger, excessive drinking and many others.

The Dangers of Lack and Limitation

Throughout the year and even perhaps even today, you might complain or hear someone complain about things that are missing in their life.  Perhaps you or someone you know isn’t grateful for all they have in their life.

By operating from a state of lack, we are broadcasting to the universe that we are missing something and we close off the gates of abundance.  The reason this is so is because by focusing on the lack and limitation of our “unfavorable” state, we can only direct our attention to the things that we don’t want in your life.

Think about it for a minute.  What types of thoughts accompany the following…

  • My relationship sucks
  • I hate my job
  • I’m fat
  • I’m broke
  • I don’t make enough money
  • I hate these bills
  • Why are they so lucky all the time?
  • And many others…

None of these thoughts can promote a state of mind conducive to creating an attitude of gratitude.

Turning the Tide to a Positive State of Mind

You see, your state of mind dictates all that flows into your life.  By being ungrateful, or by not giving thanks for what we already have, we focus on these negative items.  By focusing on the negative, our mental state remains in lack and limitation, thus crowding our entire being with an unfavorable vibration or disposition.

I’m sure you remember from elementary that “every action has an equal and opposite reaction”.  If you are perpetually in a state of lack and limitation (your action), what reaction can you expect?

So the answer is simple.  Find the good in every situation or circumstance.  Focus your attention on the positive aspects.  Even when it seems that there is no upside.

The Secret to Magnetizing Future Abundance

Also, while many of us give thanks for all that we already have, there is another, equally and perhaps more powerful application of thanks that will increase the flow of good into your life.

Be grateful for all that you are going to receive in your life.  Many “new age” teachings illustrate how providing thanks for “things to come” increases resonant vibration as well as attraction.  What does this mean?

Simply put, this means that by being thankful for future good, we increase the rate in which we receive that which we desire.  While this subject may seem confusing and somewhat esoteric, it’s a basic principle of the mind that is unknown and misunderstood.

You see, your subconscious cannot differentiate between what is real and what is not real.  By giving thanks for the things as if already attained, we cause our self serving mechanism to “search and attain” our desires.  Increase the thanks, and you increase the speed of your receipt.

Confused?  Keep this in mind, we don’t really know how electricity works either, but if we turn on the switch we know that the light will turn on.  So don’t worry about questioning the what or how of what was just discussed… just do it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

So whether today and going forward you are thankful for things already in your possession or for future things to come, remember that the key is to be thankful.

Be grateful for everything and you will see marvelous changes in your life.

I wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving!  May all good fortune come to you and your future generations to come.

Life Success Journal

09 Mar

Writing this first post has proven to be particularly difficult.  I feel anxiety, nervousness and even a little bit of fear.  I’ve been looking at the computer screen for some time now yet my fingers won’t move.

What’s stopping me?  The fear of rejection?  Worrying about what others will think?  Fear of failure?  I don’t know.

I’m sure there are plenty of people who feel or have felt the same way I do about something or another.  You want to do something so bad yet something is holding you back.  And you can’t seem to figure what.

Perhaps it was a diet, an exercise program, a relationship, finances and many other things.  You knew what you needed to do, but you were stuck like a brick and just could not get off to the first step.

If you’re like me, you’ve probably read books, gone to seminars, listened to motivational audios, read blogs, signed up for coaching programs, and on and on…searching and searching for the answers…but for some reason you still cannot get past your most difficult obstacle, YOU!

What stops us from doing the things that we know we should do?

Why do we continue to dream about a better life yet continue to do the same things day in and day out?

Why do we convince ourselves that everyone else can have a certain things (like a high level of success, wealth, health, spirituality, etc.) but we can’t?

I once heard that the definition of insanity is…doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.  I guess I’ve been quite insane for some time now.  Have you?

Don’t get me wrong, I have a good life, a wonderful family, a nice home, a decent income and a great circle of friends.

So what’s the problem right?  No problem.  I am completely grateful for everything that I have…in fact, I can honestly say that I have gotten just about  everything that I have ever wanted out of life.

You may think that is absolutely absurd, but I encourage you to look back on your own life.  Think about the things that you really, I mean really wanted.  Whether they were good, bad, or indifferent.  You will probably come to the same conclusion that you have received everything you asked for as well.

So your question then is probably… if I have gotten everything I have ever wanted, why want more right?  Well I want to direct you away from the “material” for a moment, and I want you just to think about the questions presented earlier in this post.  Really think about them.

Why do we have dreams of grandeur, success, better health, wealth, abundance, etc…?

Why do we always want more?

I guess the only answer I can come up with is, that it’s our nature.  Just like a tree continues to grow until it dies, we too have an innate instinct for growth.

The only difference is, because the tree cannot think, the tree knows no bounds!  We do!  This hindrance of our growth, the bounds or barriers of our continued growth stem from our conditioning, our circumstances, our surroundings, our upbringing and many other factors.

We stop growing, yet because of our innate instinct, we desire growth.

So, before this post goes on and on…what’s the point, right?  What does the title of this post – “Life Success Journal” really mean.

Well, I want to commit to you that I am going to find all of the answers and share them with you.  I am going to discover the answers for breaking through our perceived barriers so we can all live the life we truly desire.

I am not  only going to learn it, I am going to live it, and then I am going to share it and teach it.

I am going to share  my learnings, experiences, successes, failures, stories and a bunch of other stuff on my journey to finding the answers to all of these questions.

I am going to become a subject matter expert so that I can share with you the “system” of success.

Will the road be easy?  Probably not.  Will some people think I’m crazy? Most likely.  Will it require time and dedication?  Definitely!  Will people disagree with some things? Absolutely?  Do I really care? Nope.

Why??

You see, every single day, I come across people who have convinced themselves that life has to be a certain way.

They walk around aimlessly thinking or saying….”I can’t do this, I can’t do that, I don’t have the money, I don’t have enough education, I’ll always be fat, he has the talent to do that but not me, they’re just lucky, and on and on and on…”

All I hear is…”HELP!!!”  I’m stuck and I can’t get out.  Even worse…sometimes all I hear is…”I don’t even know I’m stuck, so I will never get out.”

So for those people who are ready to start the search, or at least those who are willing to follow someone else’s search, I dedicate this to you!

Please come back often and share your thoughts!  I would really appreciate your feedback.

Thank you.  Andrew.

P.S.  I mentioned earlier the “system of success”.  There’s something you must know about success before you get on her journey.  In a future  post, I will share the most important philosophy I have ever learned about success!  See you soon!
